I have a HP OfficeJet Pro 9120e printer and despite spending 4 hours updating firmware updating Windows 11 and now using a wired connection I can not print individual pages from a pdf (can print whole document or individual pages from word)! Loosing my rag!

Welcome to the HP Community --

Can't help with losing rag --

If you can print -- and do so properly - using Word, it's generally an indication that the full driver printer software is installed, correctly configured, and functional.

PDF controls are similar across applications and software though there can be subtle differences in how the app or software interprets the settings.

Perhaps check one or more of...

Printer will not power on

Printer Power Reset

Reminder

If you skip Step 1, also skip Step 5

1)  Remove all ink cartridges from the printer

2)  Unplug the power cord from printer and the wall outlet

3)  Press and hold the power button down for at least 15 seconds

     Next

     Release the power button

     Next

Wait for 30 seconds or longer

4)  Attach the power cord to the printer - Plug into a standard wall outlet

5)  Insert the cartridges and close the door

6)  If the printer does not boot (start), press and release the ON / OFF switch to start printer

EWS - Tray and Paper

EWS - Default Print Options

Note

There is not a setting for Page Range in EWS > Print > Default Print Options

There is a setting for default Source (Tray).

If the tray settings in EWS > Print > Default Print Options are contrary to the settings in your application or software used to configure and submit the job, the settings in the application or software will generally take precedence.

That said, if you have weird "ghost" issues that might be related to the Source (Tray) and how your printed content is behaving, perhaps opt for checking / adjusting the settings in EWS > Tray and Paper

For example --

Select the Source (Tray) as in both EWS and in the application print job setup as opposed to leaving these settings as some form of "Automatic".

Example - EWS - Paper > Trays  (Tray and Paper)

Example - EWS - Paper > Trays and Print > Print > Default Print Options

Not sure why Page Range would fail in this case --

Ensure the proper Printer is selected as the Destination

Recheck how you have entered the Page Range information.

General Example - Firefox - PDF Format Print

Pages > Select Custom > Enter Page range information

Print - PDF Format - Adobe Reader

Adobe Reader works with your installed full driver printer software.

Adobe Reader offers a Page Range option -

Main print menu --

Make sure the (correct) Printer is selected as the Destination

Next,

Pages to Print

Pages = One of more pages you want printed -- Combine as wanted -- entries separated with dashes or commas

Page Range Example:  1-4,6,8,10-12
