- Turn off your printer, computer, and router.
- Wait for 2 minutes and turn the devices back on.
- Try printing again.
2. Check for Errors on the Printer
- Look at the printer's control panel or screen for any error messages or blinking lights.
- If there's a specific error code, let me know for further guidance.
3. Ensure Printer Is Set as Default
- Open Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your HP ENVY Pro 6458 and click Manage.
- Choose Set as Default.
- Ensure the status reads Ready.
4. Clear Print Queue
- Open the Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your printer and select See what's printing.
- Cancel all pending jobs in the queue.
5. Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver
- Visit the HP Support website and download the latest driver for your printer.
- Uninstall the existing driver:
- Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps, locate your HP printer software, and uninstall it.
- Reinstall the downloaded driver and follow the prompts.
6. Run the Printer Troubleshooter
- Open Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Run the Printer Troubleshooter and follow the instructions.
7. Check Connectivity
- Wireless Connection: Ensure the printer and computer are on the same WiFi network.
- Use the HP Smart App to reconnect your printer to WiFi if necessary.
- USB Connection: Ensure the cable is securely connected.
8. Update Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Open the HP Smart App on your computer.
- Look for an option to update the printer firmware.
9. Disable Power Save Features
- Go to the printer’s settings via the control panel or the HP Smart app.
- Disable sleep or power-saving modes.
10. Test Printing
- Print a test page to confirm the issue is resolved:
- Open Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click Manage > Print a test page.
I hope this helps.
