I just got back from a conference where I heard about braille computer printers; some quick research showed that most braille computer printers ("embossers") cost over $1,000 and are quite slow by today's standards.
But, Samsung has developed some ink that allows a laser printer to print a braille font that when heated becomes raised similar to embossed. The "Touchable Ink" development project was a joint effort of Samsung, Thailand Association of the Blind and a chemistry professor at Thammasat University.

Now that Samsung's printing unit has joined HP; does HP plan on marketing the braille ink ("Touchable Ink")?
Having a $100 printer do the work of braille computer printer/embossers that currently cost over $1,000 would be a tremendous development and would improve accessibility for people with visual disabilites who prefer braille.
