Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Samsung Laser printer 13 months old, been working correctly and now have error message #U2-6142. It says to switch off and back on again, but does not clear problem.

If power-cycling does not resolve the problem, try the following :
1. Run an error report in service mode to see if there are any other errors riding with this one. Sometimes one error masks another or other errors may point to a different problem that share a common component.
2. Check the harness between the LSU (laser) and the main board for damage. Sometimes just reseating the connectors does the trick. The service manual should have a point-to-point wiring diagram to locate the correct harness and connectors.
3. Replace the LSU. Seems a bit premature but if the printer took a power hit or ...
4. Replace the main board.
