I provided a suggestion yesterday. Unfortunately I work for an HP Partner and my NDA prevents me from sharing service manuals that are not listed as public. However, as I suggested you should be able to find the manual posted online if you search. The drive is under the control panel and scanner. As I have never worked on this model I am not sure if you can access the drive by only removing the control panel. You might have to remove the whole scanner assembly.
