Samsung Xpress M2835DW
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Okay, so there's been plenty of threads on this already, but I've been suffering the 64bit driver issue for ages and it's driving me crazy. The original thread is locked now, so forced to start a new thread.

Same exact problem as the ppl in this thread: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Samsung/Mac-Catalina-64-bit-support-for-Samsung-Xpress-M2835DW/td-p/72...

My printer may successfully print 1-2 pages before going nuts and printing 1-2 rows of garbled characters on every page until the feeder runs out. As I have understood it, HP finally recognized the problem and promised new drivers that are supposed to be posted here: https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c06520117

In the thread listed above, people were still waiting for the improved driver when it was locked. Now it seems as if HP considers the new driver ready and published, but if you follow the link to my product (M2835DW) you end up on a product page for a different printer and the driver posted there simply won't work for M2835DW.

If you succeed in finding your way to the correct product page (this one: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/samsung-xpress-sl-m2835-laser-printer-series/164628...) you'll find that the updated driver is nowhere to be found. Latest version is still from 2018.

So it seems as if HP has either failed to actually published the correct driver for M2835DW or abandoned us while claiming that there is an updated driver available.

This has been the case for weeks now, I finally went nuts enough to spend the time required to sign up and post this.

PLEASE HP, GET US THE UPDATED DRIVERS FOR M2835DW NOW! I HAVE ALREADY WASTED 100s OF SHEEETS OF PAPER AND HOURS TRYING TO ACTUALLY USE MY PRINTER!

Okay, so think I solved the problem. This website had for some reason identified the OS on my computer to version 10.1 whereas Mac OS Catalina is of course 10.15. Don't know if I'm to blame for this, running latest version of Chrome, so have no idea why the support site failed to identify my versions correctly.

Either way, after manually telling the website that I am indeed running Catalina, the new version of the driver was available on above linked product page.

Hope this helps if anyone else falls into the same dead end. Over and out.

Really hope that HP will respond to this.

Can you please update the firmware posted for the M2835-series Samsung printers. On your page about OSX Catalina support, you claim to have released an updated driver, but the link leads to the wrong product page with a driver that doesn't work. On the correct product page, there is no updated driver.

The proposed Airprint solution does not solve the problem without updated firmware. Only resolve for now seems to be to use a generic driver which means you lose out on functionality.
