The printer makes noises as if it's getting ready to print but it quickly comes up with an error (red light). There is no paper jam, it's just not picking it up and I have no idea why. This error started about a month ago. I don't know what triggered it. Haven't been able to print since. Tried entering the Serial No on this site but it isn't recognised.

I downloaded the HP Smart app to my PC with the aim to run the diagnostic tool however, it isn't compatible with Windows 11.

@Leemar2025, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Remove Paper Tray

Take out all the paper.

Look for the paper pickup roller inside.

Clean the Pickup Roller

Use a lint-free cloth dampened with water or isopropyl alcohol.

Gently wipe the roller to remove dust or residue.

Let it dry completely.

Reload Paper Properly

Fan the paper stack.

Use 20–30 sheets of standard 75–90 gsm paper.

Adjust guides so they’re snug but not tight.

Check for Hidden Jams or Obstructions

Inspect the paper path carefully with a flashlight.

Remove any small scraps or objects.

Reset the Printer

Keep it unplugged for 2–3 minutes.

Plug it back in and power it on.

Try to print again.

Update or Reinstall Drivers

Download the Samsung Universal Print Driver from HP Support.

Run the installer in compatibility mode for Windows 10 if needed.

Access Embedded Web Server (if Wi-Fi connected)

Enter the printer’s IP address in a web browser.

Check error logs, settings, or update firmware.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
