Samsung CLX-3305fw Scans and copies have a 3.5cm strip down the page. But not when printing.

Scans and copies have a 3.5cm strip down the page.

But not when printing.

So probably not a problem with the printing circuit?

Anything I can do apart from power off and restart?

Nothing on scanner glass etc.

Lets try and assist.Does this machine have a ADF then there can be something on the small glass underneath the document feeder. If you scan from the glass and still have the problem the the scanner assembly might be faulty.Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply 'Copier-Pro '.

I have ascertained that there is nothing on the glass of the ADF section and besides it happens when using the flatbed section as well.

The led of the CIS is lit all the way across when scanning.

I have disassembled the CIS section to check connections etc. Could not find anything obviously wrong or out of place.

I have no doubt that it will be worth more then the machine to take/send it somewhere to be looked at, so was hoping that maybe it was something that I could fix.

Cheers

Hi Copier-Pro,

No I have not gone into the Laser Unit yet.

If there was a problem with the laser unit, would it not effect printing from my pc as well?
