Hi,
We have a whole bunch of Samsung CLX-6260 where Scan to email stopped working (Gmail first followed by O365) due to TLS support I am sure.
Knowledge Base article on HP Site indicate that new Firmware will be available to address the issue (Add TLS1.2 Support), but I am not seeing any newer firmware than one that I already run from 2016!!
Is there another place to look? Could someone confirm if those printers have been deemed obsolete and HP won't bother updating the firmware for them?
Or perhaps someone has made them work with O365 or Gmail in some magical way!
Any advice welcome!
Thanks.
Dawid

Welcome to the HP User Community.
Try / Consider
Google slammed the door on "Less Secure Apps" on 30-May-2022.
If that is the source of the issue you face, the information in this message might help.

Indeed, using an App Specific Password should likely help for Gmail.
For Office365 I would also recommend creating and using an App Specific Password instead of the standard password and then test and check for any change:

Since the CLX-6260 is below the line in the KB article, I don't believe they're looking to update the firmware beyond what's there so TLS 1.2 support won't be coming, sorry.
You may want to consider a SMTP relay internal to your network that will accept unsecure connections over port 25 then relay them to port 587.
It also looks like G-mail might still support SSL.
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server |
smtp.gmail .com Requires SSL: Yes Requires TLS: Yes (if available) Requires Authentication: Yes Port for SSL: 465 Port for TLS/STARTTLS: 587 |
I would try changing the method from TLS to SSL and change the port to 465 to see if that works. As for natively connecting to Exchange Online, I'm afraid you're stuck. That would most definitely need a relay.
