Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Samsung CLX6260-FW suddenly stopped printing the blue correctly. When I print blue font it prints pink. When I print photos they now have a pink cast. The Firmware looks to be 2013, but I have not figured out how to get it updated on the device - keep running into snags. One tech told me it was the transfer belt. He bought a samsung transfer part and genuine part and that did not resolve the problem. He suggested maybe the laser unit, but has quoted 3 hours of work and a part cost to repair that because he said he has to remove that whole part - but he is guessing because all diagnostics come out fine when he runs them and when I run from my computer. Trying to rule out the lower hanging fruit options. We cleaned the lasers facing the cartridges, got two different catridges, and he cleaned the machine. A fluke, but not sure what resolves. Help would be great!

When you say diagnostics come out fine, do you mean test prints show all cartridges printing properly? If so then you either have a corrupted driver or possibly corrupted OS on printer. Before doing anything else I would perform a factory restore on the device to eliminate a possible corruption in the OS.

Thanks for input. Have not done a factory reset. I did update through the Samsung Printer Diagnostic, made sure computer firmware and drivers were still current, and tried to update the firmware manually to the device through USB. I watched how to do in a YouTube and it followed the same path and response from the machine, except it never reset itself and never updated the firmware to the version most current.  Those versions were downloaded from Samsung. The diagnostic software says no issues with hardware, the tech said no real indicator of hardware issue in the reports, and the toners are all showing installed without issue on the reports. The Diagnostic software also didn't say it needed updated firmware and drivers (maybe since an older unit - 2014 purchase, no issues since, the 2013 is the firmware, but there is a newer one from 2017 I was trying to install). The tech said that he cleared the counter (no impact) and did the memory clear for copy quality issues. So, not sure if you have any other recs beyond the factory reset given that. If he wants me to replace the imaging module it is the cost of a new machine once you have parts and his estimated 3 hours of service. Just making sure there are not stones unturned before having to replace. Works great beyond printing the blue as pink and tinting pictures to pink given no blue (so can do what is needed in interim with B/W). Thanks for your insights.

I appreciate the detailed explanation but you did not answer my question. If you print the diagnostic prints from the control panel of the printer, are they missing the expected cyan? If yes, you have a hardware issue with Cyan printing. If the diagnostic prints look ok, then you have either a formatter issue or a driver/software issue.

He said "I ran all the hardware settings, its a hardware issue." It can be a laser or a board. Its not an easy fix." He added "the transfer holds a charge inside after the image is put on the paper. When I run an inter calibration it fails because cyan is missing." When asked directly, if you print the diagnostics prints from the control panel on the printer, are they missing the expected cyan, he says "yes." I did not see that paper. I only saw the original where there were two parts at 50% and he said all had life and should not be failing at 50%, but he tried a transfer belt anyway.

Thank you for persistence in getting clarity. Getting the tech to answer with a straight answer has been a bit difficult. He talks around the questions as we are messaging back and forth. He did not leave any of the diagnostics with me and I was in the room less on the second visit given some business calls, so I don't have as much in hand with exact terms, diagnostics, etc. He said The demo print out showed cyan missing. I used a third party tool the other night to print a test print for laser and it showed a rainbow with blue entirely missing and any combined colors that would use blue more pink. He said if it was OS corruption he does not believe the printer would be working. He believes hardware issue. He said the demo printout is made to see what colors are missing and I am missing cyan. Just want to avoid hours of OS reinstall and network setting resets if this is in fact hardware. I would likely buy a new unit if hardware unless a quick part swap. He thought 3 hours for a laser unit replacement.

He said there is no cyan on the transfer belt. He says because it is not the transfer belt, it is likely the laser unit, but that needs to be stripped down for the CLX6260-FW and disassembled as a machine to get to it.
