@RudolphUcker, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your Samsung M2070 printer is visible on your new Chromebook but won't print and shows an "error setting up" message, try these troubleshooting steps:

Remove and Re-add the Printer

  1. On your Chromebook, go to Settings > Printers.
  2. Locate the Samsung M2070 printer and click the Trash icon to remove it.
  3. Restart the Chromebook and Printer.
  4. Go back to Settings > Printers > Add Printer and let ChromeOS detect it again.

Use the Correct Printer Protocol

  1. In Chromebook Settings > Printers, select Add Printer Manually.
  2. Enter the printer’s name.
  3. Under Address, enter the printer's IP address (find this on your printer’s network settings).
  4. Choose IPP or Socket as the protocol.
  5. Under Queue, enter /ipp/print (for IPP) or leave it blank (for Socket).
  6. Click Add.

Use the Generic Printer Driver

  • If prompted to select a printer model, choose Samsung M2070.
  • If it's not listed, select Generic PostScript Printer or Generic PCL Driver.

Enable USB Printing (For USB Connections)

  1. Connect the printer to the Chromebook via USB.
  2. Go to chrome://settings/cupsPrinters and check if the printer appears.
  3. If not, enable CUPS printing by opening chrome://flags, searching for "Enable Native CUPS Printing", and setting it to Enabled.
  4. Restart the Chromebook and try printing.

Check Printer Firmware and Connectivity

  • Ensure the Samsung M2070 is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromebook.
  • If your printer has firmware updates, install them using Samsung Easy Printer Manager on a PC.

Try Printing from a Different App

  • Test printing from Google Docs, a PDF file, or a website.
  • Open chrome://print and select the printer manually.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
