Samsung M2070W

I have recently replaced the toner cartouche on my Samsung M2070W printer with a new original HP MLT-D111S/ELS.

Since then, Windows gets the printer status "no paper" for that printer.
The printer itself is able to print, e.g. its configuration settings.

The printer is USB-attached to the Windows 10 PC.

I tried the following without success:

* Inserting the paper multiple times

* Replacing the toner cartouche with an older one (that is empty)
* Removing the power cable from the printer for >10 sec
* Unplugging the USB cable, removing the printer device on Windows and pugging the USB cable again to rediscover it

* Updating the Printer driver on Windows (using the freshly downloaded M2070_Series_WIN_SPL_V3.13.13.00.01_CDV1.30.exe file
* Updating the printer firmware to the latest available V3.00.01.37 (verified that by printing the configuration)

I tried to get support from HP using their virtual assistant and their KI based version of it, but that was close to ridiculous.

I tried to register the printer by its Samsung serial number on the HP support page, but it rejects the number as invalid. I double checked that the serial number I used matches the serial number that is printed on the label on the back side of the printer, and also the one reported in the printed  printer configuration.

I printed the supply parameters, and that reports 8102 "impressions" and a similar number of fuser/rollers life (out of 30000).
The printer was installed in 12/2015.

Does anyone have ideas what else to try?

Hi @Andy0661,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Paper Settings in Printer Properties

  • Open the Control Panel on your Windows PC.
  • Navigate to Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your Samsung M2070W printer and select Printer Properties.
  • On the Paper tab, ensure that the correct paper size and type are selected. Sometimes mismatched settings can cause the printer to think there is no paper.

Inspect and Reload Paper

  • Remove all paper from the input tray.
  • Fan the paper stack to ensure that pages are not sticking together.
  • Ensure that the paper is aligned properly and re-insert it into the tray. Make sure the paper guides are properly adjusted and not too tight against the paper.

Perform a Printer Reset

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Disconnect the printer from the power source for about 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the printer and turn it back on. Allow it to reinitialize.

Update Printer Drivers

  • Open Device Manager on your PC.
  • Locate the printer under Print queues and right-click it, selecting Update driver.
  • You can also go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads and enter your printer model to find and download the latest drivers manually.

Inspect the Printer for Jams or Obstructions

  • Open the printer covers and inspect all accessible areas for any paper jams or obstructions.
  • Ensure the paper path is clear of any torn pieces of paper or debris.

I hope this helps.
