Hi there,

 

I tried to setup SMTP in conjunction with Scan to email and never managed to get the connection test to succeed. It was working with my previous email provider. The connection to the SMTP server works flawlessly from several other clients, but not from the printer. There are no detailed messages in the web interface as to why the connection fails.

 

I have the firmware V6.00.07.02, which indeed fixed an issue with TLSv1.2. My question is if there is a more recent firmware available and where to aquire it.

Try entering an older os version such as Windows 7. I have seen cases where HP has mot linked firmware to current OS versions.

I can imagine how frustrating it must feel when everything else talks to the mail server smoothly, but the printer just sits there, giving you no real clues. You’ve already done some solid checks.

 

For your Samsung SL-C4060FX, the latest firmware isn’t always published openly on the web interface. Since firmware updates are what keep features like TLS in tune with modern mail servers, I’d recommend heading over to the HP Support site and checking under Drivers & Downloads for your model.

Changing OS did the trick! It didn't cross my mind to do that since I was not interested in drivers for my pc...

 

I found a firmware file for my printer and, well, it seems I might run the latest firmware already. I'll double check, though. I don't know if there's any real difference between V6.00.07 (listed by my printer) and V6.00.07.02 that's available on HP support page.
