HP Recommended

Hello everyone, I have a fully functional color laser jet from Samsung (Xpress C410w). Since the warranty period has long since expired and I am quite familiar with computer technology, I have currently installed a new fuser unit and ITB as original HP components in this one without any problems. Everything works perfectly!

Unfortunately, the printer does not have a display or keypad to be able to reset the counter readings yourself, as with other Samsung printer models. Unfortunately, the community forums tell us that HP has not provided users with an EDC tool for resetting the counters, at least in the past. A comprehensible reason cannot be found in the forums, only the following reference "replacing the belt ( and fuser) on that printer model is not intended to be done by a user, only authorized service personnel should replace and reset the count after part replacement. " I find that very surprising, especially since HP clearly earns money by selling original parts through dealers! Unfortunately, my request to the dealers to provide the tool was also unsuccessful.

Hence my following question.

1) is HP still not providing an EDC tool even though it can be proven that original HP spare parts were installed?

2) what happens if the meter readings are not reset? Can't print after reaching the respective limit of 20,000?

I would be very grateful for a helpful hint.

Best regards

(By the way, I would like HP to support Samsung printers more seriously. For example, entering the serial number of my printer did not lead to finding and registering the product ... )
