Hi all

Recently i bought for my company one Samsung Xpress SL-C480FW.

I installed and tried to print and everything works perfect.

When i try to print using 200g paper i notice that the printer gives a paper jam error and the paper does not enter in the printer.

I changed all the related properties (paper size and type of paper) of the printer and also the job print properties.

I tried cardStock, glossy 176-220, matte 176-220. None of these configurations worked.

Then, i bought new paper, 160g and tried again but the printer always give the same error.

I already updated the firmware but no success.

I read the instructions manual and the specifications and i think this printer supports 160g paper.

If someone can help me i appreciate. I also search for an email or form to submit this problem to HP/Samsung but i didnt find any email

Hello shangrila

Depends on what size would you like to print, for example :

Printing in card stock paper (Letter, Legal, Oficio, US Folio, A4, JIS B5, ISO B5, Executive, A5, Postcard 4x6), printer just can handle 5 sheets of paper of 121 to 163 g/m2 (32 to 43 lbs bond), which is the maximum density supported by the printer, for more media specifications you can check the page 125 of the manual, I leave you the link:

I would sugest you to make a Hard reset (unplugg the power cord from the back of your printer while it is ON, press and hold the power/wakeup button during 15 seconds), when you release the button, plug it back in and turn it ON.

If previous steps does not work you can clear the memory:

Press the sequence on the printer panel Menu > # > 1 > 9 > 3 > 4 > Menu and you will enable the "Tech mode" or "Service mode", press ok on that option Service functions and then Memory clear, after that you need to select your Country and the printer will reboot.

Note: The menu button is above the Ok button

I attach a video to access to the tech mode in your printer:

Hi Printer_S

I follow the steps above and configured the printer again with card stock paper and load only one sheet (160g) in the tray. I send a printer job  (only one page) to the printer. The paper advance near 10cm and get stuck. Then, the printer gives a paper jam error and i need to remove the tray and pull the paper from the front, open the back door to reset printer paper jam status.

I also tried a different paper (200g) and the problem remains. Also with Glossy Photo or Matte Photo configuration and the problem persists.

This is a new printer and with regular paper everything works perfect.

Could be a malfunction?

Thanks.

Vítor

Possibly there is a physical damage after loading a heavier paper, since the printer is new, I would sugest you to contact the main assistance by calling the number 1-855-709-2202 to receive alternatives.
