Xpress M2885FW

I have an Xpress M2885FW multifunction printer and there is no driver available for MacOs 11 Big Sur yet. I can't print and scan. When will the driver be available ? Even AirPrint doesn't work any more and scanning is impossible !!!

I use a similar printer, the M2070W but I think the problem is the same. You can print with Big Sur easily, delete the printer and re-add it using the native printing support instead of the driver and it will be fine. The problem is the scanner.

In order to scan these are the current options:

* only scan in black and white

* scan using a phone app and then share it via Google Drive or iCloud or something

* if you use BootCamp, only scan in Windows

* buy VueScan, scanning software with extensive support for almost all older printers, for $50 😕

Thanks for your reply but :

1) there is no way to scan even on b&w. With no driver , MacOs doesn't see the scanner at all.

2)I have done some scanning with my iPhone and then airdropping the file to my Mac but it is unacceptable.

I really hope that HP/Samsung will deliver a driver , soon or later.

HP just released the generic driver for Big Sur just this past week. It can be found here:

I have an Xpress M2875 printer which uses this same driver. Was able to reset my printer settings following the detailed instructions in this post. I probably didn't need to, but thought it wouldn't hurt since I had tried to install unsuccessfully before. I can't figure out how to scan over Wi-Fi as no "scanner" is detected. But when I connect the printer via USB cable I can scan fine via the built-in MacOS Image Capture app.
