Hi cominco

To update the FW for the machine, the last version from the database is:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/SS/SCX-4521FS/4521FS_HS_V3.07.01.28.zip

You will need to extract the content of the zip folder.

We have 2 ways to update the Firmware.

If your printer is connected to the network with an ethernet cable:

-Start a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, from Windows or Safari from MAC.
Enter the machine IP address (http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) in the address field
and press the Enter key or click Go

-Access to the SynThru Web Service

The login information for the SyncThru Web Service is

ID: admin

Password: sec00000

-Once you are logged in 

Select Maintenance > Upgrade wizard > Browse > Select the file that has the extension ".hd" on the uncompressed file location > Click next until you get the Firmware update confirmation

If your printer is connected to a computer with a USB cable:

I'll leave this image with the instructions for USB connection.

Is the machine asking for the SWUPGRADE_ON.prn file? or you were able to finish the process getting that message?

drag the firmware( .hd)and drop usblist2.exe file then saw printer disply screen " image error reset printer
