Working with a client their printer HP ColorLaserJet MFP M283fdw is generating an error message saying "79 service error turn off then on" when they attempt to scan.

 

Then the printer's display screen appears to display some static for a bit the printer restarts. The printer doesn't scan actually scan anything.

 

The printer doesn't have any issues printing at all the issue is isolated to scanning.

 

We've tried power cycling the printer, disconnecting, and reconnecting the ethernet cable.

 

Turned off IPV6 under network settings for the printer.

 

Checked the firmware on the printer is up to date. I suspect the issue is with the firmware but there doesn't appear to be a way to get the previous version from HP support.
