I cannot scan in the ADF or on glass as it says the ADF unit is jammed. There is no paper visible, followed all troubleshooting and run the scan dr but still no luck.
The first 2 time when I have run teh scan doctor it fied iiself but not it came back.
The scanning is used seldomly here.
I cannto get rid of that error and can't even get to the home menu onthe touch screen.
Can someone please suggest something? (software is up to date...)

Hi! @DALE-LUCIEN, Welcome to HP forums.
I understand that ADF unit is jammed on your printer.
Please try few steps recommended below.
Press the Power button to turn off the printer. If the printer does not turn off, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
Wait 60 seconds.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
Press the Power button to turn on the printer.
The printer might go through a warm-up period, which might last several minutes. Wait until the warm-up period completes before you continue.
If the printer ejects any paper and the printer control panel no longer displays the error message, there is no need to continue troubleshooting.
If the printer does not eject any paper and the printer control panel still displays the error message, continue to the next solution to clear the jam from the printer.
Refer this article to further troubleshoot paper jam issues: http://hp.care/2fwYLWH
Let me know if this helps!
Cheers! 🙂

I have tried every solution to this problem as per HP recommendations and have yet to solve it. My HPOfficejet Pro 8620 is a well maintained and a clean machine. After all my time and effort, i still received a constant ADF jamb message that won't permit me to copy or fax. however, the print from my computer seems to work fine. Is there anyone with an answer to this problem?
Thanks,
Pgray317

Hey there! @pgray317, thanks for the response.
As you mentioned you still have ADF jam issues after troubleshooting.
Please try performing a partial reset on the printer.
I will send you the steps in a private message.
If the issue still persists it is a hardware issue as I mentioned in my previous post.
There is nothing much we can do except to service the printer.
Please contact HP support for service options.

Hi there,
Did you try to open up the ADF top cover to look through the mechanical parts inside? It allows you to check if there is any debris of paper left inside, which could potentially cause the paper jam message.
Hope it helps
