Printer prints fine. Your scanner softwwre says the printer is off line, it is not.

It wil not scan using the buttons on the printer.

I have installed software updates and rebooted the router.

DO I just throw this thing away?

Never had so many issues with an HP product before.

It has destroyed work flow and is costing more than the unit is worth.

Hi @cbox1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've already taken some troubleshooting steps, which is great. Let's try a few more.

  • Restart both Devices: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Try turning off both your printer and your computer, then turning them back on.
  • Check Connection: Ensure that your printer is connected to the same network as your computer. You might want to double-check the Wi-Fi connection on both devices to ensure they're properly connected.
  • Reinstall Drivers: Reinstalling the printer drivers on your computer can sometimes help. Visit the HP website, find your printer model, and download the latest drivers for it. Then, uninstall the current drivers from your computer and install the newly downloaded ones.
  • Update Firmware: Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP website as well. Follow the instructions provided to update the firmware.
  • Reset Printer: If nothing else works, you might consider resetting your printer to its factory settings. This should be done as a last resort since it will erase any custom settings you've configured.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
