OS 15
Hello,
Our HP Office Jet Pro 9015e has loud squeaking at the top for the scanning feed as it scans the top of the page and also as it scans the reverse side.
We have tried dusting on the inside and wiping the (accessible) rollers with a SLIGHTLY damp, lint-free cloth but that didn't help.
What can we do?
Thank you

@ScotchyScotch, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Loud Squeaking from HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e Scan Feed!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e is making loud squeaking noises during scanning, it may be due to dirty rollers, misaligned parts, or a need for maintenance. Here are steps you can take to address the issue:
Clean the Rollers and Separator Pad:
- Gather Materials: You’ll need a clean, lint-free cloth and distilled or bottled water.
- Turn Off the Printer: Press the power button and turn off the printer, then disconnect the power cord.
- Locate the Rollers: Open the ADF cover and locate the rollers and separator pad.
- Clean the Rollers: Use the damp cloth to clean each roller thoroughly. Ensure you remove any buildup or debris by turning the roller with your finger as you clean.
- Clean the Separator Pad: Clean it in the same manner as the rollers.
- Dry the Rollers: Allow the rollers and separator pad to dry by keeping the ADF cover open for a few minutes.
Examine the Paper Load:
- Ensure the paper used is within specifications and not damaged.
- Align the stack of paper by tapping it on a flat surface before loading.
Check for Software Updates:
- Ensure your printer’s firmware and scanning software are up-to-date.
Inspect for Misalignment or Mechanical Issues:
- If the noise persists, check if there are any misaligned parts in the scanner area which might need attention.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
