Hi @lisaensley

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for the details. If your HP OfficeJet 9019 scanner isn’t working on Windows 11, here’s how to get it back up and running.

1. Check the Connection

Are you connected via Wi-Fi, USB, or Ethernet?

If Wi-Fi: Make sure both your PC and printer are on the same network.

If USB: Use a direct connection, not through a USB hub.

2. Install or Update HP Software

The best way to enable full scanning features is with the HP Smart app:

Install HP Smart (if not already):

Go to the Microsoft Store: HP Smart for Windows

Install and launch the app.

Add your printer (HP OfficeJet 9019).

Click "Scan" and test a scan.

If HP Smart doesn’t work or you want classic tools:

Alternative: Use HP Full Feature Software and Drivers

Go to HP's official page:
https://support.hp.com

Search for "OfficeJet 9019"

Select Windows 11 as the OS.

Download and install the "Full Feature Software"

3. Test the Scanner

From HP Smart: Click Scan > Scanner > Start Scan

From Windows Fax and Scan:

Open Start > search Fax and Scan

Click New Scan

Choose the 9019 scanner and click Preview or Scan

4. If Scanner Still Doesn’t Work

Try these:

Restart Devices

Turn off printer and computer, then restart both.

Remove and Re-add Printer

Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners

Remove the HP OfficeJet 9019.

Click Add Device to reinstall.

Use HP’s Diagnose & Fix Tool (Windows)

  • In the HP Smart app, click Printer Settings > Diagnose & Fix.
  • Let it run a scan—it will automatically fix common connection issues.
You can also access this tool on HP’s support page if needed.

Need More Help?

Let me know:

  • How your printer is connected (Wi-Fi or USB)
  • What happens when you try to scan (any error message?)
  • If the printer works for printing but not scanning

Then I can guide you more precisely!

If my response helped, please mark it as an Accepted Solution It helps others and spreads support. 💙 Also, tapping "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" makes a big difference! Thanks! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
