When attempting to scan a multiple page document from the flat panel, I get a document for each page as opposed to a single document containing all pages I have scanned using the add button. This is different than the behavior with my previous HP all in one and is not what the manual states should be happening.
Can I get some assistance on how to resolve this?
Additionally, it seems to take a long time for the document to show up on the computer as well.
Thank you

Welcome to the HP English Community --
"On the computer"
The full driver printer software for this newer top-tier printer is indeed a little different previous printers.
That said, the full driver printer software is still available. Install the full driver if you want to use "HP Scan"
You can also / instead install the "HP Universal Scan Software".
What?
For this printer, you do not need both HP Scan and HP Universal Scan -- they are essentially the same program but do occupy a different location in the Windows File System. That said, sure -- you can install both. Doing so can be confusing later, but there is nothing to prevent having both on the system at the same time.
Instructions to install the full driver are included later in this message in section "Message Content References"

HP Document - How to Scan
HP Printers - How to Scan (Windows, Mac, Mobile) | HP® Customer Support
-------------------------------------------------------------
HP Scan
The "new format" HP Scan is similar to the original HP Scan in that there is still a "More >" feature to access all the sub-menus, including the one for Destination > File Type where you will find the control to combine or separate the pages of the scanned content.
Simple Example - HP Universal Scan / "new format" HP Scan -
Save as PDF > More > Destination > File Type - single files or combined
HP_Universal_Scan_PDF_More_Destination_File_Type_1
----------------------------------------
HP Smart - Windows
The printer can scan pages from the flatbed and create a single output file in PDF format.
HP Smart - Windows -
Open HP Smart > Scan > Documents
Scan the first page -- Optionally Edit the page content
When ready to continue, find and click the "+ Add" button -
Remember that you must flip and scan any "back side" pages.
Scan the next page --When ready to continue, find and click the "+ Add" button -
When Done,
The pages must be manually sorted into their final order:
View "Tile View"
Grab (Left-Click and hold) each page and drag it into the order wanted.
Select your next option: Print, Save, Share (to Email), Shortcuts, or Mobile Fax (as available)

Printer Software
If you have not yet done so, install the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software.
HP Full Feature Software / Full Driver printer software - supports printing and scanning from the web, printing in in other software and programs (for example, Word), and provides access to the full range of Printing Preferences / Shortcuts. The full driver generally adds at one, possibly least one, possibly two shortcuts to the Desktop: Printer Assistant, HP Scan Assistant, and/or HP Scan.
NOTES:
HP Scan is not installed if the printer does not support Scan.
The Printer Assistant is not installed if the type of full driver software does not support it. If the printer model includes built-in Fax hardware, the software supports the setup and use of the Fax driver.
No Sign-in required to use full driver printer software.
Reinstalling?
- Uninstall existing full driver printer software from Programs and Features.
- If your printer includes a separate "help" in Programs and Features, uninstall that, too.
- Restart the computer and log in.
- If the printer is connected to the computer using a printer USB cable, remove / disconnect the cable before loading the software.
>>> Full Feature Software - Web Pack Installation Webpage - Information - Download / Save / (then) Install <<<
HP OfficeJet Pro 9130 series EasyStart Printer Setup Software - Offline Use Only
In general, the web pack should load -
Download package > Save > Right-Click on the installation Package > Run as Administrator
If / When asked, opt for the Full Driver / Full Software to be installed.
Using USB? (Re)Connect when instructed to do so.
After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in.

Optional
HP Universal Scan Software -
Essentially the same software as HP Scan -- and the same software is used / installed for both printer series
Open website HP Universal Scan Full Feature Software
If needful, choose a different OS > Open all
Find / Download / Save / Install HP Universal Scan – Full Feature Software and Driver Webpack
After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in.
=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=
The installation of the full driver generally adds at least one or more shortcuts to the Desktop.
Note: Printer Assistant, HP Scan Assistant, and HP Scan are dependent on printer model and supported software options.
- Printer Assistant – Where still supported as part of the full driver printer software
- HP Scan – Shortcut on Desktop named for the printer model
OR
- HP Scan Assistant – For those printers that no longer provide the Printer Assistant
- HP Scan - Shortcut named for itself
AND / OR
- When installed, HP Universal Scan software adds a separate self-named “HP Scan” shortcut
Printer Assistant shortcut > Tab Scan > Manage Scan to Computer > Enable
Or
HP Scan Assistant shortcut > Manage Scan to Computer > Enable

Appreciate the reply and assistance. However, I am still having the same issues.
When initiating the scan to the computer from the printer, the process results in multiple documents on the computer. The key point of this is I am initiating the scan from the printer, NOT THE COMPUTER.
Additionally, it takes about 3 minutes for the document to make it's way over to the computer when doing this operation.

You are welcome.
The pages to document settings, that is, whether a scan results in a multiple page document or a bunch of single page documents should be controlled and part of the job configuration.
?
App or Software you are using?
Partial Example - (new format) HP Scan / HP Universal Scan - PDF > More > Destination
HP_Universal_Scan_PDF_More_Destination_File_Type_1
Yes, three minutes, unless you have the resolution cranked up, is longer than typical. Scanning (images) at high resolution, for example 1200 DPI would result in this type of delay. True that scanning from the Printer appears to be maxed at 300 DPI.
Job on the computer:
Is the time to scan three minutes if you initiate the scan from the computer?
Which app / software are you using?
At the Printer:
Scanning from the printer might hint that you are using a Quick Set, perhaps a Scan to Network Folder Profile.
Have you tried using a different destination to test?
Where is the destination located?
For example,
Is the destination one of:
- A local folder in your account
- A remote, mapped destination - NAS?
- A Cloud Account - OneDrive?
Are you using an IP address as opposed to using a system name?
Example - EWS - Quick Sets - Scan to Network Folder - OneDrive
EWS_9135_Quick_Sets_Network_Folder_OneDrive_4
General Example - EWS - Scan to Network Folder - Defaults
EWS_9135_Scan_to_Network_Folder_Default_Job_Options_3

Good Morning.
Interesting -- HP Smart (first post example) cannot easily separate a job into separate files - using "Add page" tends to add any subsequent pages to the current scan job / group.
Assuming from your answer you've not used / are not using HP Smart for job or testing.
OK - HP Scan (original and this newer format) is fairly smart about single or combined document scans.
I cannot explain why multiple page scan would result in single PDF files for each page.
Nor can I explain why a simple, low or mid resolution scan job would take three minutes to reach the destination.
In general, these are indicators of communication issues either on the network or due to the content.
?
Recheck your Quick Set (scanning from printer) - perhaps select a different destination / folder to check.
To others reading:
Remember that the destination must be Shared and provide full read / write access.

Questions - Rhetorical or answer --
Are you using "Add Page"?
HP_Universal_Scan_Flatbed_Add_Page_1
Scanning on the flatbed - odd paper size that cannot be scanned in the ADF?
Test using a standard sized paper document input of 2 or more pages in the ADF -
Same result?
This next question might -- or might not -- make sense to you.
Do you have both the full driver printer software AND HP Universal Scan Software installed?
If both driver and Universal software are installed, which of the "HP Scan" programs are you using?
HP Scan as part of the full driver
OR
HP Scan as installed "HP Scan Universal Scan Software"

Automatic document feeder works fine and I get a single PDF containing all pages. When I initiate the scan on the computer it works fine: I can add pages and I get a single PDF containing all pages.
It is only when I do scans using the flat panel that are initiated from the scanner where I will end up with a PDF for each page scanned.

OK -
and
There is no clear reason (from my perspective) that a simple PDF scan should take 3+ minutes to complete.
Job size can impact results --
The printer should have plenty of resources unless you are using it from multiple devices at a time (one after another -- printer is not a multi-task machine). That said, if the printer is connected to (for example) eight active devices, sure - that might reduce the resource.
True - If the destination is balking, lacking enough resource, or if the network is slow, busy, not responding, these can severely impact scan data transfer from the printer to the destination.
The 3+ minute scan job reeks of something else going on with the scan data or the communication with the destination.
and
I cannot see how glass scanned content would necessarily force itself into separate single paged documents.
That said,
I have "Scan to Computer" disabled -- personal choice.
It's been a minute since I've used it - sure, Scan to Computer might not be doing what you expect.
-----------------------------------------------------
I do have a number of Quick Sets - and more than one for "Scan to Network Folder"
Each of the Quick Sets I tested can (will) scan from the flatbed when that is where the content is placed.
Job starts at first placed content, Scans at command > Next, asks whether to "Add" page.
The final product, after adding one or more pages and clicking "Done", combines the scanned content and sends it to the destination.
Reprint - Example - EWS - Quick Sets - Network Folder > OneDrive
The example is for an Image "JPEG" scan type, change the File Type to PDF to scan to a document.
EWS_9135_Quick_Sets_Network_Folder_OneDrive_4
If you have not done so, perhaps try creating one or more Quick Sets.
==================================================
For the moment, I'm out of other ideas.

Review
Scan to Computer?
- Requires having installed the full driver printer software on the computer
- Must enable the "Manage Scan to Computer" feature
- The destination must be Shared, available (not switched OFF or offline).
Scan to Computer > Enable "Manage Scan to computer" using the Scan Assistant
Programs_and_Features_Printer_Desktop_Icons_20

Webscan is a combination of "not on the printer and not using extra / installed software" -
Included here only as FYI / Review
Web Scan / WebScan (spelling depends on context, printer, and vintage)
Web Scan / WebScan - Run from your browser and has it's own set of defaults on the printer

I have eliminated this down to being either a computer issue or a Windows 11 issue. I have 3 computers I have tried the scan to computer option with and only the Windows 11 machine has the issues of not scanning multiple items to a single PDF and the slowness.
Given that W11 has been out for a couple years, it is highly unlikely that it is a W11 issue.
Thank you for your assistance with this.
