Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Unpacked my new printer yesterday!

And some problems...

When I enter a paper to be scanned to the computer, the scanner works, but it assumes it's being fed from the glass and not the ADF (even though it says “document loaded” on the screen when I put a paper in the ADF). There is nothing on the Smartscreen, which would allow me to adjust or select ADF. The options are very limited with this printer/software. Also, there are no options under Scanner, Fax, etc. From the app I can scan using the ADF.

I tried copy the document with ADF and that is working.

I’ve installed and uninstalled the software and drivers several times to no success.

One of the reasons that i bought this model is that, it scans with ADF. Please help 🙂

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

Please download and install the Universal Scan driver for use:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-color-laserjet-pro-m282-m285-multifunc...

Be sure to select the Source to be "Document Feeder" to scan from the feeder.

Hello,

Thank you for your response!

Though, it didn't work. I still can't scan to computer (directly from the printer) using the ADF (it keeps using the flatbeed, no option). The printer is not in the same room as the computer.

Any other advice?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi @MD_kL

Have you tried using HP Smart (on mobie phone)?  Download from Google Playstore or Apple Store.

Use HP Smart to setup and connect to a network and try the scan.  The HP Smart  (Mobile) scan has a "Source" selection for Document Feeder option if you were to select the Drop down menu

Alternatively, you can setup Scan to Email (G M A I L) and once the document is loaded in the document feeder, you can scan to your email.

Hello, I have had the same issue on my office's printer site Dryer take so long to dry and I tried re-installing the drivers and the issue got resolved. As it has been pointed out by hp authoritative that you should first try installing the drivers then try that. If that doesn't work then go to their official site and download the drivers from there. It will help.
