Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

The HP Easy Start app only installs the driver that only works the printer. The work around for a lack of driver that will run the scanner is to install & run the HP Smart app.  In the app, you can install the HP 8600 printer/scanner.  It will not add it to your installed Mac scanner list, but you can run the app to perform a scan.

Please, this depends on the MAC version

 

Because there is only a driver up to version 13, after that, the installation is via the standard driver:

The solution I gave is a work around and works with Sonoma 14.5 to scan.

Exactly, there is an alternative MAC driver, as the current ones are up to version 13
