Hi all,

My scanner does not work properly since a few days. The scanned image contains only  several colored lines. The original image does not appear at all on the scanned image. (see example)Scan problem.jpg

Any idea to solve this problem ? Seems to be a material one...

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Are you able to make copies from the printer?
  • Have you tried scanning from the scanner bed?

When I send a request to print from my desk top computer  I have no problems. However when I try to make a copy or scan a document on the printer itself I get the bands.

The copies from the printer do not work as well.

And yes I have tried scanning from the scanner bed.

Thank you for posting back. 

 

This seems like a hardware issue with the printer. Check if the printer carriage is moving freely inside the printer.

Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document: Resolve copy problems with HP printers  and Fix scanning problems

Update the printer firmware if possible

  • Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your PC.
  • Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

If the error persists, please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service options for your  printer

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know-how.
