Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP DeskJet 2820e All-in-One Printer

When I try to print a scanned document (both colour and greyscale) I get a 2cm black line down the centre of the printed page. I have checked the ink cartridges and installed new, cleaned the head and printed the diagnostic page which is alright. This problem only effects scanned documents.

Fortunately my printer is within warranty but it took a lot of negotiating and many incorrect attempts to clear the fault before they accepted your advice and ordered a replacement (refurbished) printer. Thanks for your good advice it was very useful.

If the printer prints documents ok, then there is no issue with the printing part of your device. The issue is with the scanner.  As this unit does not have an automatic document feeder, the issue is not likely to be dirt on the glass but a good cleaning would not hurt. If that does not work your next step to try would be to perform a factory reset on the device.  Download the user guide from support.hp.com for assistance with that. If the reset does not work then you likely have a bad scanning unit and if it is out of warranty, likely not worth investing money in repairing.
