Black line down entire page

I have a thick black vertical line down entire page when scanning or copying. Is there a fix for this

I would like to help

 

Do you experience this issue while printing?

 

Please clean the scanner glass with a lint free cloth and try copying again

 

Also ensure the printer has the latest Firmware https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168

Issue only occurs while scanning or copying, cleaning the glass was my first step.  HP updater is running so the firmware and software should be up to date.

 

Anyway to clean the actual scanning bar?  Cannot seem to find how to access it. Maybe it has a some dust  on it?

Unfortunately it's not possible to access the Scanner bar. At this point I suggest you contact HP Support in your region for service options

 

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/ 
2) Select your product type below.
3) Enter the serial of your device. 
4) Select the country from the drop-down. 
5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences. 
6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.

No help.  Did that and got referred to the community because my printer is out of warranty and they will not sell me a support package.

 

I would buy a care pack.  Looks like this is my last HP printer.  It lasted only 13 months
