When the buttons on your HP Smart Tank 7301 printer freeze and you can't make a copy, try these steps.

 

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Make sure your printer's firmware is up-to-date. You can usually check for updates through the HP Smart app.

Inspect the Control Panel:

  • Ensure there are no obstructions or debris around the control panel buttons.

Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a factory reset. This option is often available in the printer's settings menu, but refer to the user manual for specific instructions on how to do this for your model.

Clean the Printer:

  • Gently clean the control panel with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals.

Check Connections:

  • Ensure that all cables are securely connected.
