There are many reasons that "cannot scan" might happen.

 

Start here:

Restart everything, including the router that controls your network.

If you need more help, you'll need to tell us more about the situation, including

  • The Operating System / version on the device you are using to scan
  • The Software / application you are using
  • How the printer is connected to the network -- or if you are trying to use the printer with a USB print cable connection
  • Whether scanning has ever worked -- If yes, what, how, and when
  • Whether there have been changes to the system (if you know)
  • What you have tried to correct the problem
