Hi, I've tried to photocopy a legal size but the bottom part gets cut. How do I fix this? My printer is HP 4275.

Welcome to the HP English Community --

If your printer is one of these models:

HP DeskJet Printers

=============================================

Then

The flatbed (glass) does not support legal size paper.

The ADF can scan single sided legal size.

Scan Size Maximum (ADF, Imperial)8.5 x 14 in
Scan Size Maximum (ADF,metric)215.9 x 355.6 mm
Scan Size Maximum (flatbed, imperial)8.5 x 11.69 in
Scan Size Maximum (flatbed, metric)216 x 297 mm

User Guide – HP DeskJet 2800e HP DeskJet 4200e

Pages 21-22

The printer lacks a touchscreen printer control panel --

The instructions in the user manual do not expressly include a way to adjust the Copy settings.

If Copy will not do what you want...

Instead,

Scan the content using the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) -

Load document into ADF > User Guide – HP DeskJet 2800e HP DeskJet 4200e  - Page 16

Next,

The instructions in the user manual ( page 22 ) refer to HP Scan (part of the Windows full driver printer software)

You can, of course, use whatever app or software you usually use to Scan a document - the point is to get the content scanned and then saved to your device (computer, tablet, phone).

Remember - the printer can only scan one side at a time - 2nd page side(s) must be added.

After the content is scanned, Save the file to your computer / device.

Next,

Print the saved document.

Preparation

Open the Embedded Web Server (EWS) - Tray and Paper

Check that the paper you are using is listed as the "large" paper selection.

Next,

Load the paper you will use into the printer intake tray at the back of the printer.

Finally,

Print the document - be sure to select the paper size and other settings on the main menu and any additional sub-menus.

Printing - Important -

The printer requires a larger margin along the bottom edge (1/2 inch).

Borderless PrintingNo
Print Margin Bottom (A4)12.7 mm
Print Margin Left (A4)3 mm
Print Margin Right (A4)3 mm
Print Margin Top (A4)3 mm

There is no software, firmware, or alignment that changes the larger margin requirement.

The solution to "chopped off" is to keep all data inside of 1/2 inch / 12.7mm on the bottom edge.

This limitation includes all text, images, page numbers, footer information, cells, tables, lines, other notations, and all file types, too.

Create your original document with 12.7mm ( 1/2 inch ) margins.

Alternatively, and where it will work for you, Print the content as "Fit", "Shrink to Fit", or a percentage of 100% that will capture all the content on the page.
