Can a Third Party Send Me a Fax Using Mobile Fax?

I’d like to have the ability to receive faxes from, for example, a doctor’s office or other third parties. I have mobile fax capability and how-to instructions don’t specify what information is needed for someone to send a fax to my printer. Am I the only one who can send faxes to myself? Seems pretty pointless if that’s the case. Do I have to connect my printer to a landline in order to receive faxes using a fax number or does the mobile fax option have a number already, and where do I find that information if so?

Welcome to the HP User Community.

At this writing, and possibly as a permanent limitation,

HP Mobile Fax does not include a "Receive" fax feature.

Another way to say it:  You cannot receive a fax using the Mobile Fax application.

Receive a Fax

You need a Fax capable printer

Note:  HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M182nw  does not include "Fax"

Reference  Product Specifications for the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M182nw (7KW55A)

OR

You need an "eFax" service or subscription that includes the ability to receive faxes as part of the service.

Search online for "eFax" type services.
