Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Can't use scanner (OfficeJet Pro 6975) without connecting to the internet. I used to be able to do this directly over wifi with software installed on my Mac, but with new software (HP Smart) must use internet connection to access the scanner.  Although it works it really is inconvenient to have to sign in to the HP account every time I want to scan something and doesn't work at all if your internet goes down.  Questions about this in Jan 2021 provided a link to download the full software but they don't work anymore. If you search the HP driver site you download HP Easy Start but it cant download the driver as the site forces you to the (Smart) software. I must say its not smart, convenient, or useful. HP devised this scheme to sell ink direct to customers (this software made a bunch my brand new cartridges worthless) and now they literally control the scanner with this diabolical software. Anyone want to buy a used Office Jet Pro?
