Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

macOS 12.0 Monterey

Having trouble scanning documents at their original size/scale using HP Smart. We had no trouble with this using HP Easy Scan, but now can't make it work with the new HP Smart.

 

I work in architecture, so it's important that documents stay exactly in their original size, so that our drawings remain to-scale, as drawn. 

 

I am using a macOS 12.16 Monterey with an HP HP OfficeJetPro 7740 [632EBC]

 

Any advice would be most welcome, thank you!

I understand you are trying to scan from the printer screen to the Mac.

 

Have you tried scanning from the Mac using a scanning application and checked if that works?

 

You may use the HP Smart app or the HP Easy Scan app from the App Store.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your Mac.

Click here to learn different methods of updating the printer firmware.

 

Also, check for any software updates on Mac

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

 

If you have already tried the above-mentioned steps and still having issues, this might need one-on-one interaction with phone support. They will help you via remote assistance.
