Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).
Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

Over the past few days, my HP ENVY Photo 7858 has been unable to scan to an email - printer always says, "Printer unable to connect to Web Services. The server might be busy or temporarily unavailable. Try again later." When  I go into Web Services Setup and select Display Email Address, it says, "Web services cannot be setup." "HP Smart" says the color and black cartridges are Instant Ink and good to go. I have removed and setup Web  Services, and it says, "Web Services set up", but then immediately displays  "The printer was unable to connect to the Web Services server". When I go to the printer's IP address in my browser, the Web Services tab shows this:

Web Services StatusEnabled
Internet connectionConnected
Printer connection to HP ConnectedConnected

Web Services Settings

HP ePrint
On

Print Apps
On

HP Instant Ink
Enabled

The printer then spit out a page "Get the Most out of Your Printer" that says "Printer Email address Not available at this time." All of the items it suggests have been checked. When I checked for firmware updates, the message was, "The printer could not connect to the server. Check the Internet connection and try again. If you are still unable to connect, contact the person who set up the printer." What now?

This function used to work. I installed new cartridges about a week ago; no idea whether that is relevant to the issue.
