Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
I understand that you are unable to scan from ADF, let's try these steps to resolve the issue:
- Firstly, let's update the printer's firmware, refer - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hi
Thank you for your response. First, I have a 3830 Office Jet, you sent me a link to a 9020 Driver. Second, I have updated the printer and it shows up to date.
Also, none of this is working. Not sure what happened, but I can no longer scan from the ADF. Just a few days ago I could place a document in the ADF and choose SCAN then hit SCAN to DESKTOP and it would automatically scan through the ADF into a PDF in a folder on my desktop. This feature is no longer working.
Now it will only scan through the glass. Not sure what to do.
Thank you.

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:
Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers:
- Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP OfficeJet printer entries and uninstall them.
- Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
- Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
- Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
- Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
To reinstall, click here.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

unfortunately, that still did not work. I can't scan from the ADF. When I load a piece of paper in the ADF and choose SCAN, it goes to scan from the glass even though the paper is in the ADF.
Not sure what to do at this point.
