Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Mac Powerbook (Big Sur 11.3.1) & HP 8720 (Up to date with latest updates)

When I try to access the scanner using the standard Mac route (system pref/printers/scan) it generates the following error:

HP Scanner 3 (driver file from 2018!) generates a malware warning from Mac OS and then won't run/open.

There is no new driver download available on the HP website (only download for HP8720 is HP smart now).

I have tried deleting the printer (via system pref/printers/-) and reinstalling (via system pref/printers/+) and this doesn't resolve the problem.  No problems with network or connection and still prints ok.

Request you to follow the below troubleshooting steps from the document fix :-

 

Use the HP easy scan app from the App store to scan or use apple image capture
install the printer using AirPrint driver
