I go to make a copy, I put the original on the glass ect ect  as usual. I hit copy,  It printed EXTREMELY  & PAINFULLY slow, no exaggeration, minutes to make a copy.  It was working fast and great last time I made a copy. It makes no sense, one minute great, next minute horrible.

Can anyone tell me what the hell happened  and how to fix it and get it back to normal?

FYI  I made sure driver was updated,  I  looked  up & tried  troubleshooting, I even ran a diagnostic scan and it say's the printer is working properly.

I sure hope one of you can help.  HP Envy 4512 all-in-one printer & I'm using windows 10 (64 bit)

Hi,

This likely occurs due to incorrect paper settings.

 

Let;s remove and reload the paper into the tray and evaluate the shown prompt, ensure it list the Paper Type as Plain Paper.

 

If it list any other paper type as photo paper or Other paper, click No or Edit and change the Paper Type to Plain Paper, then click OK to confirm and try copying again.

HI, Thank you so much for your reply and help. Somehow the paper setting got switched to photo paper. The problem is resolved.

Maybe you can help solve another issue.  When I go to print something in color and choose color in preferences, it switches itself back to monochrome. It will let me  print something in color from a laptop though but not my PC ??

Hi,

Try following below specific version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting your printer:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

 

Be sure to restart your PC and allow the utility to complete the process, then check for any difference.

 

Try printing and check for any change, if the same remains try printing using the newly added print queue copy (Copy1) and check for any difference.

Thanks for your help, but it's not working. I tried an update, drivers ect.  Then I deleted the printer and tried to  re-install  not only with the updated software online but also with the original disk. It keeps saying HP doesn't support my browser. I have both Google and Chrome. This is so frustrating. I'm tempted to buy a whole new computer.
