Solved!

Defaults & Editing Scans

HP Recommended
HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Freshly installed OfficeJet Pro 9015e and having enormous difficulty finding the answer to two simple questions. Seems in the wealth of info available, cannot finding anything relating to my specific question, printer and associated software. HP Smart was the only software installed at the time of installation.

#1. When doing a quick scan (laying document on glass and hitting scan on the printer menu) I'd like to change the default location of where that scan goes. Currently, it goes into a deep subfolder and I prefer all such quick scans go directly to my desktop. How can I change the default file location?

#2. When using the automatic document feeder to scan let's say a 20 page document, very often there could be a page or two that I really don't need in the scan. With my other printers, I could select the page(s) thumbnails I don't need from the document preview  and delete them from the saved scan. I see no ability to do make those page deletions in HP Smart.

HP Smart seemingly has very limited functionality and I am wondering if I'm missing something.  Appreciate whatever guidance and wisdom you can share.  Thanks

In general,

If you have not done so, download-save-install the Full Solution Software:

HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 EasyStart Printer Setup Software – Offline Use Only

"The full solution software includes everything you need to install and use your HP printer. This collection of software includes the complete set of drivers, installer software, and other administrative tools."

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in.

Scan - The basics

 How to Scan (Windows)

I don't use "scan" on the  printer control panel - scan to computer is switched off.  (Personal choice).

I don't remember a good way to change the default save-to-computer folder using the scan button.

You could try using a Smart Task - on this series, Smart Tasks can be synced to the printer.

After the document is scanned,

Click Edit

Next, select the page
