Hello all,

I'm trying to delete extra scan shortcuts from my HP 8022 printer but can't seem to find a way to do this.  When I select Scan to Computer from the touchscreen control panel on the printer it shows:

  DESKTOP-IIBIN5U

  Scan to DESKTOP-IIBIN5U

  Scan to DESKTOP-IIBIN5U

  Computer Not Listed

 

I'm pretty sure I accidentally created 2 shortcuts when scanning my first document.  Not sure whey the DESKTOP-iiBIN5U is listed. Also not sure why my laptop is not listed as it is connected to the network.

 

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @MAButler,

Both shortcuts represents the same computer.

 

DESKTOP-IIBIN5U is disbributed by the HP Scan Software, due to installingthe HP Officejet 8020 Basic Device Software

 

The other too are distributed by WSD, due to first configuring the printer by the operating system rather than the HP Software:

Scan to DESKTOP-IIBIN5U

Scan to DESKTOP-IIBIN5U

 

Please right-click This PC and select Properties, then clarify what exact shown computer name is listed for your PC.

Shlomi - Thanks for the response.  However, I'm not sure what you mean by "right click" this PC.

Open File Explorer

Navigate to "This PC"

Right-Click on "This PC"

Select / Open Properties

The PC name is DESKTOP-IIBIN5U.  Is there a way to delete the shortcuts from the printer?
