Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Same issue as the original poster, Around June 17 The HP Smart APP will not connect to the scanner of my printer.

I am able to use the Windows Scan utility and HP Suite from the printer to scan but neither allow me to use the Feeder which is what I primarily used. I can however scan using the flat bed just fine with the HP suite and Scan App, PDF PNG or JPEG all work and are readable. However when switching to the HP Smart App it Either says the Printer is busy or the Device is not reachable and to retry, though of note I am able to print using the HP Smart App, just not scan, neither the Flat bed or Feeder work. I did check the printer services and scanner services were running, restarted them to no success. Tried reinstalling the HP drivers, the HP Utility Suite, and even the HP Smart Windows App, but I am unable to get the App to let me scan.  The Built in "Diagnostic" Section of the HP Smart App also sees nothing wrong with the printer.

To assist you better, what model printer are you using?

Refer to this document to know how to find the Product Name or Product Number.

Are you using a Win 10 PC?

 

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix scanning'.
