Hi @croppja2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with the document feeder on your 8025e. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Check for paper jams: Sometimes, even a small piece of paper can cause the document feeder to malfunction. Open the document feeder cover and carefully inspect for any paper jams or debris. If you find any, gently remove it.
  • Verify document placement: Make sure that the documents you're trying to scan are placed correctly in the document feeder tray. The documents should be neatly stacked and aligned against the guides.
  • Clean the document feeder rollers: Over time, dust and debris can accumulate on the feeder rollers, causing them to slip or not grab the paper properly. Clean the rollers with a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with water or isopropyl alcohol. Be gentle to avoid damaging the rollers.
  • Restart the printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve minor issues. Turn off your printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Update printer firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Sometimes, updating the firmware can fix bugs or issues with the document feeder.
  • Check for mechanical issues: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there may be a mechanical problem with the document feeder mechanism.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
