HP ENVY 7645

My HP ENVY 7645 no longer scans an entire page.  It cuts off the margins a little and the end of the page.  Only happens when copying documents either on screen or via the feeder.  How do I get it to "expand" the scan so entire page is copied?

Hi @Sluf77,

I'd like to help!

I understand you are unable to copy the entire scan area.

Follow the below instructions -

Load the original document or photo

Load the original document in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) tray or on the scanner glass. Use the scanner glass to copy original photos or to produce a 2-sided copy.

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not on already.

  2. Load the original document or photo:

    • ADF: If your printer has an automatic document feeder (ADF), place the document into the document feeder tray with the print side face up and the top edge going into the tray first. Adjust the width guides to fit the item. You can load up to 35 sheets of paper in the ADF.

      NOTE:

The ADF copies only one side of the original. To make a 2-sided copy from a 2-sided original, use the scanner glass.

         CAUTION:

Do not load photos in the ADF. Use the scanner glass instead to prevent damage to photos.

    • Scanner glass: Place the original with the print side down on the scanner glass, position it according to the engraved guides around the glass, then close the scanner lid.

Copy the document or photo

After loading the original, change the copy settings such as paper size, paper type, and lightness/darkness level, then copy the document or photo.

  1. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Copy icon .

  2. Swipe to the desired number of copies, or touch the keypad icon , then input a number.

  3. Touch the Settings icon , then specify the desired advanced copy settings.

    • Resize: Select the size of the image of the photo or document that you want to copy.

      • Actual: Make a copy that is the same size as the original. The margins of the copied image might be clipped.

      • Fit to page: Make a copy that is centered with a white border around the edges. The resized image is either enlarged or reduced to fit the size of the selected output paper.

The 2-sided copy option does not work if the Fit to page option is selected.

      • Custom: Increase the size of the image by selecting values greater than 100% or reduce the image size by selecting values less than 100%.

    • Lighter/Darker: Slide the button to select the lightness/darkness level, and then touch OK.

  4. Touch Back to return to the Copy screen.

  5. Touch Start Black or Start Color to start the copy job.

The printer prints the copy job

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I truly appreciate your response, and attempt to help.  Following my post, I realized that when I loaded paper in the tray, I would get an opportunity to state which size I was using.  I must have originally used the 8" x 10" setting versus the "Letter" setting (8.5" x 11").  Once the "Letter" setting was selected, the scanner would scan the entire page!  Problem solved!  Thanks, again, for your attempt to assist.
