The scan app used to support duplex scanning. It used to 1-scann side one, 2 -prompt to reinsert side two, 3 -scan side two, and finally 4 -sort/match the pages together. Even know the option for duplex is on the screen, when side one is complete, I am no longer prompted to reinsert the documents to finish the scan.

Try to download and use the HP FULL software solution software:

Else, can try using Mopria Scan on an Android phone for 2 sided docuemnt scan, this printer is Mopria Certified and can use the Mopria Scan. This resource (example) shows how it's done:
