ENVY 6455e Document Feeder not working.
12-02-2021 03:21 PM

I just installed a new HP Envy 6455e along with the HP Smart app. Everything works except that I cannot get it to Scan or Copy sheets from the document feeder.

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Support Community.
Can refer to this resource on how to copy:

For Scan, this would be useful:

Hope that helps!

The videos are nice for seeing how to use the printer. However my problem was that when a document (or documents) are placed in the ADF, and the printer recognizes that, when the copy button is pressed, the document is not fed in, a blank page is copied from the printer glass instead.
I found a proposed solution in HP Support - which was opening the ADF and cleaning the mechanism.
I did clean it, but while testing, I discovered that the only way to get the ADF to work is to open it, push the document forward a bit, reclose and then hit the copy button. Then the document grabber will get it.

Hi @Kathy_K
Looks like from the description, the document feeder is not as reliable if the document is fed properly.
If it's still under warranty, would suggest to contact HP for a replacement?

Hope that helps!
