Both the feeder and platen won't scan. Platen will go through motions of scanning but come up blank. Feeder won't even feed. Contacted support, after reset, tech said it was because my wifi is 5GHZ and printer can only handle 2.5GHZ which sounded to me like BS. Tried updating driver, no change. Tried connecting through USB, no change.

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

 

Verify Scanner Settings: Double-check the scanning settings in the HP Smart software. Sometimes, settings can accidentally prevent a scan from going through, or the software might be set to a specific type of scan (e.g., photo, document) that isn't compatible with what you're trying to scan.

 

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows only):

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

Check the Feeder Mechanism: Since the feeder isn’t even attempting to feed, it could be physically jammed or have an issue with the paper detection sensors. Inspect the paper path for any obstructions or debris. If it’s still unresponsive, a reset of the printer might be needed.
