Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

The HP Easy Scan app does not work on my Mac anymore. I was told it is no longer supported by HP to work on a Mac. My question is will it ever be brought back to work on the Mac OS Ventura and future releases? I was told to use Image Capture but I personally prefer to use Easy Scan.

Welcome to the HP Support Community

 

I understand you are facing an issue with the HP Easy Scan app for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035 All-In-One Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

 

To assist better:

  • Were there any updates done on the PC?
  • Have you tried performing any troubleshooting for this issue on your own?

While you respond to that, please go ahead and uninstall the HP Smart app from your MAC PC.

 

Steps to uninstall HP Smart and reinstall:

 

  • Click Finder, and then click Applications. In the list of apps, click and drag the HP Smart app to the Trash at the end of the dock.
  • Go ahead and Update the software on Mac 
  • Restart PC
  • Once the PC is turned back and idle, download HP Easy Scan
  • Once installed, check if you are able to access the app.

Update the printer firmware 

 

  • Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your product
  • Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.
