Envy 5032 all in-one printer won't scan

HP Recommended
Envy 5032
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have a problem with my printer (Envy 5032 all in-one printer). I installed all the software and drivers on the 123hp site but the printer won't scan. When i open the envy 5000 software and click on the scan button in the scan tab (the scan program suposed to open in an sepparte window) nothing happens. When I manually try to open the scan software nothing happens. Not even an error message. I tried reinstalling the software and drivers, run the software as administrator, disabbled the virusscanner but nothing helps. When I start the scanning mode on the printer it self it tells me that I have to install the software on the 123hp site wich I already did.  Hope you guys can help me.

@Rense

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's run the HP Print and Scan Doctor:

Use this link for details on using the HP Print and Scan doctor: https://hp.care/2JyaC93

If the issue persists, let's do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.)  Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:

Thanks for your respons, did every single step you mentioned but still the same problem. Ran the hp doctor and updated the drivers. Also tried updating the printer firmware but the update fails every time. When I open the TwianUtilityUI there are 2 Twain drives available but when I select them there is some error with the source which can’t be found. Maybe the problem with the scanner has something to do with the fact that the laptop is 64bit and the drivers 32bit. The scanner is working flawless with my MacBook Pro but not with the windows laptop.  The laptop is running windows 7 is updating to windows 10 maybe a solution?
