HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Since going to Windows 10 my Envy 5530 has had problems being recognized as a scanner. There is no issue printing. When I first went to Windows  I needed to reinstall the drivers and it worked off and on. Recently it stopped being recognized as a scanner by anything I have tried. I updated the drivers again and the printer firmware. Trying to fix it with HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.6.5 it stops with X-Device Manager,

When I went through the troubleshooting checklist  on the HP site, I get these instructions

'

Make sure the Digital Imaging Monitor is running

The HP Digital Imaging Monitor (DIM) software must be running in order to scan from the control panel.

Search Windows for c:\Program Files (x86)\HP\digital imaging\bin, then press Enter.

A window opens showing the contents of the bin folder.

From the bin folder, find and double-click hpqste08.exe...."

I am not able to find that hpqste08,exe file anywhere.

At this point, I am running out of ideas.

What next?
