Hi @Xxssddff

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Here are the steps you can follow to address the scanner light flashing on your Envy Inspire 7200 when not in use:

Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer using the Power button.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and from the wall outlet.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors or extension cords).
  • Turn the printer back on and check if the light continues to flash.

Check for Pending Tasks

  • Ensure there are no pending print, scan, or copy jobs in the queue.
  • On Windows or macOS, open the print queue and clear any stuck jobs.
  • Restart the printer after clearing.

Update the Printer Firmware

  • On the printer control panel, navigate to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer.
  • Allow the printer to check for and install any available updates.
  • Restart the printer once the update completes.

Check Sleep Mode Settings

  • On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Preferences > Sleep Mode.
  • Adjust the sleep timer to a shorter duration and confirm the setting.
  • This helps ensure the scanner light powers down properly when not in use.

Run a Diagnostic

  • Open the HP App on your Windows or macOS computer.
  • Select your printer, then go to Printer Settings > Advanced Settings > Diagnose & Fix.
  • Run the tool to automatically detect and resolve issues.

Reset the Printer

  • On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Defaults.
  • Confirm the reset.
  • Reconfigure the printer settings and check if the light behavior improves.

These steps should help stabilize the scanner light behavior. If the issue persists after completing them, you can decide on the next course of action.
